Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol)

Inner Mongolia (Nei Mongol as it is known as in Chinese) is always confused with Mongolia. Inner Mongolia is a Chinese province while Mongolia is a democratic republic on its own. As part of China, the Inner Mongolians speak Putonghua whereas in Mongolia, the people do not speak the language. However, the Mongolian language is widely spoken in both places but with a different accent. Hohhot, a city where the old and the new mixes, is the capital of Inner Mongolia.
